Kimberly Radel
Associate PrincipalKim serves as a leader in the Value Transformation Consulting practice, specializing in finding cost-effective ways to improve quality and operations in alternative payment models, care management strategy, post-acute strategy and care model redesign across multiple service lines. Her 20 years of experience in implementing new solutions in an evolving health care environment elevates the performance of each client. She also has significant experience in practice management, patient engagement and senior strategy.
Before joining Sg2, Kim was a leader at a senior-focused health start-up where she oversaw the home-based geriatric care team operations, partnership growth and client management. She collaborated with health plans, health systems, medical groups and senior living companies to maximize performance in total cost of care risk-based contracts. Prior to that, Kim served as a solution sales executive at Optum, delivering care management and after-hours call center solutions for health systems shifting from fee-for-service into value-based risk-sharing arrangements.
Kim has valuable health system provider experience, previously serving as director of the neuroscience clinical service line at Allina Health in Minnesota, where she led initiatives to expand a telehealth program in stroke care, develop a deep brain stimulation program, and create a cognition and memory program coordinating services and resources for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer disease and other dementias. She also led a multimillion-dollar research grant to bring a team-based approach to individuals living with chronic conditions to improve clinical outcomes, coordinate care and reduce medical cost. Kim began her health care career as an IT project manager and emergency preparedness leader at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Kim received her master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota—Carlson School of Management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of St. Benedict.
