Michael Humphrey
PrincipalAs a principal on the Sg2 Intelligence team, Michael focuses on enabling members to better prepare for the rapid and complex changes shaping health care. He helps organizations apply Sg2 Intelligence and Vizient Analytics to anticipate disruption, strengthen strategic decision-making, and proactively plan for the future—providing meaningful value as they navigate evolving market, operational and clinical challenges.
Throughout his tenure at Sg2 and Vizient®, Michael has held several key leadership roles, including leading the segment strategy practice supporting academic medical centers, children’s hospitals, the life sciences sector and the Vizient Research Institute (VRI). He served as executive officer for Vizient’s AMC CEO and CSO Member Networks, facilitating engagement among senior leaders managing significant strategic and operational change. Michael also led Sg2’s international client portfolio during the period in which Sg2 maintained a global membership and directed the AMC Service Team, ensuring strategic alignment between Sg2’s capabilities and the evolving needs of major academic medical centers.
Before joining Sg2, Michael served as vice president of consulting and business development for a specialty hospital and technology firm, where he led joint venture development, strategic partnerships and consulting engagements. His earlier experience includes leadership roles at The Sachs Group, a pioneering health care analytics firm.
Michael earned an MS in health administration from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and a BA in economics from King University in Tennessee.
